is it safe to buy accutane from canada In her Emmy-nominated documentary Homecoming, Beyoncé revealed that in order to get back in fighting shape in preparation for Coachella, she had to strip her diet down bare.
“In order for me to meet my goal, I’m limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol. And I’m hungry,” she said. “I definitely pushed myself further than I knew I could. And I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. I will never [laughs], never push myself that far again.”
That diet, we now know, was a form of the 22 Days Nutrition plan put together by New York Times best-selling author, Marco Borges, who also happens to be the superstar’s trainer. In a new video to promote 22 Days Nutrition, we learn more about how it helped her.
In the beginning of the clip, Beyoncé steps on the scale on the first day of rehearsals for Coachella post-delivery of twins Rumi and Sir. She calls the moment “every woman’s nightmare,” and finds out she weighs 175 pounds, which is already a big jump from the 218 she said she weighed the day she gave birth. Still, the star said she had major work to do.
“Long way to go,” she said. “Let’s get it.”
The star extended Borges’ 22-day vegan meal plan to 44 days, and gave fans a glimpse at some of the colorful meals being put together for her. They were all plant-based, veggie-focused presentations that according to Borges, were meant to take her “as close to nature as possible” and give her the fuel to balance motherhood with her extensive training and meetings for the big show.
“When you’re eating plant-based, you will definitely have more energy, you will definitely sleep better, you’re definitely going to have improved complexion, your mood is going to change completely,” he said.
“These little things that help empower us are going to make us stronger,” he added. “They’re going to make us function to the best of our abilities. That, at the end of the day, is all we can ask ourselves, to live our healthiest lives. To live the best version of ourselves.”
Aside from eating incredibly clean, video was also shared of the star working out with Borges in the gym, which wasn’t terrible for her, but certainly came with unique challenges after giving birth to twin via C-section
“Me getting the weight off was so much easier than getting back in shape and my body feeling comfortable.”
It was all worth it though, as her efforts went a long way. In a scene from the clip, the mom of three showed she could fit in one of her old tour outfits again (we know Jay-Z’s reaction to this feat wasn’t as over-the-top as social media wanted), and she felt like herself again.
“Seriously, you look amazing!” Borges told her over FaceTime. “I’m not even kidding. You look very awesome.”
“I’m getting there,” she said in response. “I’m coming back. She’s coming back!”
